Partner Spotlight: Grand Valley State University
Starting college is an exciting milestone, whether you’re coming straight from high school or returning as a non-traditional student. It’s a time full of new opportunities, experiences, and growth. Those opportunities can also bring new responsibilities and challenges.
That’s where our team comes in. We specialize in helping students navigate campus and community resources so they can stay focused on what really matters: achieving their academic and personal goals.
At Grand Valley State University’s Allendale Campus Health Center, students can complete a short, confidential questionnaire to help us identify potential needs and connect them with the right support.
Here’s how we help:
- Connecting students with essential resources like the campus food pantry or local food banks and SNAP application support.
- Exploring housing and transportation assistance, including referrals for emergency shelter or help accessing community-based transportation.
- Supporting mental and behavioral health needs by helping students understand their benefits and available services.
- Educating students on the benefits of having a “medical home,” including access to primary care, behavioral health, dental, and vision services, and the importance of preventive care and wellness visits.
- Support finding health care services, including establishing a primary care doctor who works with their insurance coverage.
We’re proud to partner with Grand Valley State University to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive, both in the classroom and beyond.
Together, we’re helping Lakers build a strong foundation for lifelong health, success, and well-being. Learn more about GVSU’s Campus Health Center’s services.
